Happy New Year from the Red Berry!

What a great way to spend New Year's day!  We headed up to the Red Berry to finish up the kitchen. Yes, it's official, the kitchen is complete. So here's a little recap of our weekend.

Ladybug was with us on Friday and we had our first snowfall! She was all geared up for the snow and for spotting dear with her new binoculars.

The first thing on our agenda was the breakfast bar.  Superman had started it last time. This time he put the counter on it.  Once the counter was in place and secured, I placed the white tiles.  Superman cut trim pieces and I painted them while we waited for the tiles to set.

The next morning, I got up early and grouted the tile. It looks so nice. Superman hung more trim and filled in the nail holes.  While he put the finishing touches on the trim, I had another project for the breakfast bar. I had a video but it wouldn't upload, so I just have to tell you about it.  I went upstairs and pulled old boards off the bedroom wall to use on the front of the breakfast bar. What should have been a quick 2 hour project turned into a much longer one but the result is worth it.

I don't like it! Ahhh!
Round two......I like this selection of boards better.

These were straight from the wall upstairs
This is after I lightly sanded them......Tada !!

At last, it was just the way I had pictured it.  I just love it!

The last thing to do before we left was hook up the gas stove.  Of course, Superman had it hooked up in no time.

We talked about our plans for the first two bedrooms upstairs and took some measurements.  Yahoo!!
Stay tuned for the next phase of the Red Berry makeover.  We welcome your comments. Happy New Year!
